This email is a trifecta of just good stuff !
First of all on a personal note, 19 yrs ago I went into labour on this day. I walked out of the yurt I was living in at the time ( up past the 10th creek crossing in the jungle west of Mullumbimby in NSW, Australia ) to go and sit on the balcony to drink my chai.
As I opened the door there was a red belly black snake wrapped around the rock we used to keep the door open. I remember thinking, how interesting that we have never seen her before. In the back of my mind I felt the nudge that it was auspicious.
And within 10 min or so of seeing her I began to go into labour.
She stayed wrapped around that rock until the my son was born.
I was in labour for 5 days !!!
Neither he ( my son ) nor I have done things in life the easy way.
His birth being one of them.
Living continents apart from my son as a solo mama when he is still under 20 yrs of age is a beautiful blessing and difficult all at the same time. Yet his week, I fly to Barcelona to be with him on his birthday.
I have already burst into a gazillion pieces of star dust as I make our bookings for the degustation restaurant where we will celebrate his 19th turn around the sun, the theatre performances we will be seeing together and the ordering of the box(es) of Belgium chocolate I require him to arrive with. 😜

Todays podcast episode was inspired by the incredible breakthrough I was witness to recently with a couple I am working with.
When they came to me I could hear that they both were wanting the same thing, yet according to each other they were on totally different pages of the book of their relationship.
They were stuck in a rut of mis communication which had caused them both to shut down from one another and base a lot of decisions they were making on assumptions.

What something means to one person will mean something totally different to another.
Mis communication that creates baggage of assumptions and hurt is a huge factor that evolves into deeper forms of rupture.
What I see so often is how constant attention is placed into business, children and health to keep the cogs of it all working and flowing, yet the constant touch points of clear communication, clearing the small hurts, building + maintaining sexual and intimate currency are left to chance. Left for later.
The life built because of the relationship often takes over the constant nurturing the relationship needs.
This means many wake up next to someone they believe they have grown apart from.
Yet if the truth were be told, the constant attention to the relationship details have been left unattended to.
